How TooA works: from the carton to the cup in a few minutes

In traditional ice cream makers, the cold is "stored" in a bowl that must be frozen in advance. With TooA, cooling is active: the machine cools and churns the mixture directly in the cup while the paddles stir it. For this reason, no advance preparation is needed.

Milano and Milano Pro use a patented cooling system and work on a single-serving basis, like a coffee machine. Family and Family Pro use active cooling with a compressor and prepare larger quantities, suitable for a family or a dinner with guests.

How to make ice cream with Milano

1.      Pour the contents of a TooA brick (250 ml Tetra Pak, which can be stored at room temperature) into the cup.

2.      Close with the lid, insert the churning paddles, and place the cup into the machine.

3.      Lower the arm and press the start button.

4.      When the ice cream is ready, the machine emits a sound and the button LED turns solid blue.

5.      Do you prefer thicker ice cream? Start an "extra time" cycle from the app or the machine.

The TooA app (Android 11 or later, iOS 13 or later) sends the information for optimal preparation to the machine. Since the November 2024 update, Milano and Milano Pro also work without a smartphone.

How long does it take?

With Milano and Milano Pro, about 5 minutes per serving, plus any extra time cycle. With Family and Family Pro, 30 to 40 minutes for a quantity of 0.8 to 2 liters: the time depends on how much ice cream you are preparing. With Family Pro, you can also add fruit, chocolate chips, or chopped nuts through the hatch during preparation, and use the yogurt program, which ferments and then cools.

Can I use my own ingredients?

Yes. TooA bricks are the fastest way to get started, but they are not mandatory: TooA machines, including Milano and Family, also allow you to make ice cream with your own ingredients. You can find recipe ideas in the TooA Recipe Book

How much power does it consume?

Milano Pro has a rated power of 450 W. Over a cycle of about 5 minutes, this means a maximum of approximately 0.04 kWh per serving: this is a theoretical maximum value, as the compressor does not run at full power for the entire cycle.

How to clean it

Cups and paddles should be washed by hand with water and a non-aggressive dish detergent, or in the dishwasher on a low-temperature cycle. For cleaning the machine body, please refer to your model's manual.

How to store bricks and ice cream

Bricks are stored at room temperature, without the need for a refrigerator. You can also keep them in the fridge, and once opened, they must be stored in the fridge. Already prepared ice cream will keep in the freezer for at least 60 days, preferably in a covered container to prevent ice from forming on the surface.
